Car Insurance HUMMER (Car Insurance). How do I transfer my driver's license and car to Texas from Louisiana?

How do I transfer my driver's license and car to Texas from Louisiana? I currently live in Louisiana. I'm moving to Texas in a few weeks. What do I need to do to get my license, car, etc. transferred to Texas? How long do I have? Are there any vehicle taxes involved? How should that be handled? What order do I need to do everything? How much can I expect all of this to cost? Anything else I may need to know?

Hello Danny, Go to the states DMV website and there should be a section for new residents, it will give you all the answers for Texas policies. After you move there walk into the Texas DMV and tell them you need a new license and plates. Yes there will be fees, you basically have to register the car all over in Texas. There's no way to say how much it costs; try looking up the Texas DMV you'll be living near and call them. Usually DMV's don't give out fee's on the phone, but they may give you an estimate. Walk into the license bureau and they will issue you a temporary and take your old license and cut the corner off and this will be your drivers license until they mail you a new one... then go to the tag office and have your title transfered as they will check the VIN to be sure and will most likely charge for all of it..

HUMMER . My car dies while driving?

My car dies while driving? I am driving an Automatic 2001 Hyundai Elantra w/125K miles on it. My problems happened very recently, my car dies randomly while driving w/out any sputtering. The first time it died I was accelerating from a light and the 2nd time I was braking for a stop sign. The car gives no indication its going to die (it doesn't run rough or anything like that). I have been very lucky that I have been able to either veer or push my car into a parking lot. After it dies and I try to start it again it sounds like its going to start but never turns over. It will usually start (pretty rough) after about 15mins so I have been able to limp it home. My question is, what could be causing this? I know it's not battery or alternator. I know the simple thing would be to take it in but as I said my car has 125k and I'm trying to decide if the repairs are worth it as I do need to change my timing belt, get new tires, new brakes, water pump, and fix a small valve cover leak if I plan to keep my car for any extended period of time. Could this be a fuel pump issue? I don't want to have to pay a tow to garage just to find out I'm going to junk my car anyway. I'd appreciate any ideas, Thank you! car insurance.

HUMMER . The Brake Light Bulb is Not Working with the Lights On

As everyday wear and tear affects your car, you're bound to run into some brake light problems. If it's not caused by an accident, the problem could be in the circuitry or in the bulbs themselves. The most common reason for brake light failure has to do with a light bulb that needs replacing. It's important to take care of these malfunctions quickly because while each state's policies might vary in severity, they all have laws that pertain to broken taillights.
Difficulty:Moderately Easy
Instructions Things You'll Need
Replacement bulb
Flathead screwdriver or
Phillips head screwdriver

Step by Step :
1
Locate the screws on your tail light covers. For some cars, you can just use a Phillips head screwdriver to pop the cover off. There will be some vehicles that have the screws in the cover itself. With some compact cars, you'll find the screws in the trunk.
2
Decide which screwdriver you'll need, a Phillips head or a flat head. Remove the tail light cover screws by turning the screwdriver counterclockwise.
3
Locate which of the brake light bulbs is failing by testing the brakes. You can then unscrew the dead bulb counterclockwise. Sometimes, all of your bulbs will need replacing.
4
Make sure you have a replacement bulb that not only fits your model but also has the correct wattage. Check the owner's manual for your car to find out the specific bulb for your make and model. Replace the bulb, or bulbs, by screwing them in clockwise. Test the brake lights to make sure you don't need to replace any other bulb.
5
Replace the tail light cover by either popping it back into place, or using the screwdriver to reinstall the screws in a clockwise direction.
Tips & Warnings
Have another set of eyes with you while you're finishing changing the bulbs so that someone can look at the brake lights while you test them.

Be careful not to drop the screws from your tail light cover. They are small and will be difficult to find if dropped on the ground or somewhere in your trunk.

HUMMER . How to Replace 1996 BMW 328i Cyclops Brake Lights

The 1996 BMW 328i features nine individual lights on the rear of the car. There are two running lights, two signal lights, two reverse lights and three brake lights. Of those nine lights, all but one can be replaced from the trunk. The cyclops brake light actually has to be accessed from the passenger compartment, but it is still easy to replace, and you will need only one tool to do the job.
Difficulty:Easy
Instructions Things You'll Need
Flat-head screwdriver

Step by Step :
1
Locate the square panel that looks like a vent on the rear parcel shelf of the 328i. Pry the panel off with the flat-head screwdriver to access the lightbulb holder.
2
Reach into the compartment and grasp the bulb holder. Remove the bulb holder by turning it counterclockwise.
3
Remove the bulb from the holder and replace it with a new bulb. Reinsert the bulb holder into the compartment and turn it clockwise to lock it into place.
4
Replace the compartment cover.
Tips & Warnings
To prevent corrosion on the bulb contact, apply a light covering of dielectric grease to it.

If you touch the bulb, be sure to wipe it clean to prevent premature failure.

electronic distributor. Vacuum advance 228 ">art'"" ^eePm9 ^our Car m Good Condition, System by System If, when you look inside your distributor cap, you do not find the parts in the illustrations in the following sections, you probably have an electronic ignition system and can consider yourself pretty lucky. As I mentioned earlier, you don't have to deal with adjusting or replacing traditional points and condensers. All you have to do is check and change your spark plugs now and then and check for a defective distributor cap or rotor if your engine starts running roughly or stops running completely. Because there are many types of electronic ignition systems, and adjustments usually require expensive tools and specialized expertise compared to conventional ignitions, I strongly advise you to rely on a good automotive technician if neither the cap nor the rotor appears damaged. Remote the rotor Sitting on top of everything else inside the distributor is the rotor. Rotors vary in size from small plastic gizmos that simply lift off the distributor shaft, to big round plastic plates that have two screws to remove (Figure 12-16 shows different kinds of rotors). Various types of rotors. To remove your rotor, follow these steps: 1. Before you remove your rotor, move it on its shaft. Does it move easily? If not, you really need this tune-up badly! . Chapter 12: Keeping Your Electrical System in Tune 2. Remove the rotor from the shaft. To remove a small rotor, just lift it straight up off the distributor shaft (see Figure 12-17). To remove a large rotor, you need to unscrew the two screws and lift the rotor off the distributor shaft (see Figure 12-18).

3. Take a close look at the old rotor to see how it fits onto the shaft so that you can put the new one in properly later on. Part'"' KeeP'n9 Your Car m Good Condition, System by System All rotors go on in only one way: They either have a square-pin-insquare-hole/round-pin-in-round-hole arrangement, or they're notched or shaped so that they fit on the shaft pointing in only one direction. Still, it's a good habit to take a long look at anything you remove before you remove it, because you tend to forget how it's situated, and sometimes you have to make a choice. Don't be afraid to draw pictures if you aren't sure you'll remember how something fit together. 4. Look at the metal contacts that conduct current to the spark plug terminals. If the rotor contacts are corroded, broken, or cracked, you really need a new one! In any case, plan to use the new one after you're through working on the rest of the distributor. 5. Set the old rotor aside. Under the rotor on some vehicles, you may find something called the centrifugal advance (see Figure 12-19). Its function is rather complicated, it has nothing to do with this minor tune-up, and it hardly ever breaks. Just leave it where it is and forget it. Figure 12-19: A centrifugal advance.
